She’s a Soccer Player

We signed Charlotte up for soccer and let me just say a few things…

  1. She wears a tiny person jersey and I can hardly look at her wearing it… it’s that cute.
  2. She LOVES it and is simultaneously insane while playing.
  3. Listening is her least favorite part about soccer.
  4. She’s hysterical.

Mark took two videos of her from two weeks ago and oh my goodness. They’re hilarious. He accidentally took the videos in slo-mo, which has someone managed to make the videos even more epic.

Enjoy…

Halfway Through the Challenge

I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned this at all on here, but three weeks ago, I started a bootcamp challenge. The challenge includes (3) one-hour crossfit classes per week and a paleo diet (no dairy, soy, wheat, sugar… Aka none of the good stuff).

I was really dreading the workouts because a) duh. B) I’m not the cross fit / weight lifting type (I have never lifted weights prior to my class) and C) it felt like a huge time commitment.

Well, let me say that I’ve been absolutely loving it. I’m signed up with my neighbor and it’s just become a fun little escape (during the peak of nighttime craziness) that feels great!

The diet… It’s fine. I can’t eat dairy or soy anyway because of Henry, so it’s not a huge change. I’ve cheated maybe 3 very small times (small bowl of cereal in almond milk, a bite of bread). However, I didn’t give up coffee or wine. That’s just nonsense.

All in all, I’ve dropped 7 lbs and am way more muscular than when I started. Still a ways to go, but I’m feeling good! Most importantly, it’s a little less frustrating getting dressed every day.

Charlotte-Isms: Part 1

*I wrote this back in July. I will work on Part 2 soon, as her language and silliness has evolved so much since then!**

Charlotte’s language has been exploding lately! She’s gone from knowing maybe 50 words, to having a full vocabulary that she can use to string together 4+ word sentences!

Some of her vocabulary is a bit… unconventional. I thought I’d try to document them so I don’t forget 🙂

  • Baby Wa-Wa (The baby is crying)
  • Baby Shhhh (The baby is sleeping)
  • I want [signs water] (Charlotte will say “I want” but then uses the sign for water)
  • Toby hush!!
  • Ollie shoo shoo!
  • I want apple – sauce. (This is a phrase I hear constantly. Sometimes over the monitor at random hours. The girl LOVES applesauce and truly enjoys saying it.)
  • You want moooor? (Charlotte is a great sharer of food. Even when she enjoys the food she’s sharing, she’ll give you a piece and, as she cocks her head, will ask, “You want moooor??” So cute)
  • It’s biiiiiig! (Everything is big. If she gets a large portion of ketchup, “It’s biiiig”… if we pass a truck, “it’s biiiig” and so on)
  • I want tritch! (I want to see a truck)
  • Henry, seeeee?! Mommy, seeee?! Daddy, seeee?!
  • Dis is my dis!! (This is my ____ – she says as she’s holding something she wants you to see)
  • Dis is mees! (This is mine)
  • Chewy (Charlie)

Another Exhausted Slip-Up

My world seems to be filled with weird little slip-ups these days. I’m pretty much always missing the punchline. Why? Because I’m exhausted.

Today’s was kind of funny…

I’ve been staring at two wedding invitations for at least a month with the intention of sending in the RSVP’s. I’ve moved the RSVP cards a million times, in hopes of getting them closer to the mailbox. Throw them in my car, my purse, the diaper bag, etc.

Today I decided enough is enough.

I went looking for them and the damn RSVP cards are MIA. Thankfully, for one of the weddings, you had an option for RSVP’ing online. Done.

However, that still left one. Embarrassed, I told Mark that I had lost the card and he would need to text his friend (apologetically) our RSVP.

Mark: Name, I’m really sorry and I know this is annoying, but we can’t find your wedding invitation. Melissa and I will be there.

Friend: Haha I already got your RSVP.

Mark: Yikes. We haven’t slept in three months and I guess it shows.

Well shit. I guess I found the RSVP cards…

The NY Fam

Over the past 11 days, we’ve had Mark’s sister, brother-in-law (for part of the time), and two nieces in town! Charlotte absolutely adored her time with the cousins and all of the many outings we had.

Here are some photos from the visit!

It’s no wonder why one of C’s favorite new words is “cousins”… The end of her summer has been jam-packed with her favorite people: the cousins (all 4 of them!)

Zoo Day!

Another fabulous day of mommy daycare, thanks to my amazing sister! We took all the kiddies to the zoo and honestly, it was a blast!

I absolutely love watching the cousins play 💛

I was really anxious about taking care of (and being able to entertain) both babes for 2.5 weeks straight with no breaks, but honestly, we’ve been having the best time! I feel like a very, very lucky momma.

After lunch, we went to portillos with my parents and coworkers!

💛💛 All the feels 💛💛

Pool Day!

Today I took the kiddos to an amazing little “water park” with my sister, niece and nephew. I’m not going to lie, I was so anxious about it.

Charlie is still at an age where she needs someone in the water with her at all times and that’s not exactly easy with an infant on shore. Anyway, my sister was amazing (thank you, thank you, thank you!!).

She took Charlie in the water and on the slide about 7,055 times. The weather was perfect, the pool temp was great and it was just a magical day. Also magical, Henry slept the whole time (except for the 10 minutes when we required a little mid-nap milk snack).

So much fun!

Also fun this week… We had a great play date yesterday with a group of neighbor mommas, a lunch date with daddy, and another lunch date with grandma, grandpa and daddy!
